"Tobe " was born Courtney Jerome Acord his father didn't care for the name and called him Tobe. When he went into the Army during WWI he gave the name Tobe and was instructed that he needed a middle initial he picked "E". He was born in Clarksville Ark.02/18/1890 and died in Valley Mills 10/21/1960. Thelma Drew Jaynes and he married 11/ 15/ 1924 in Patton Community. With this union they had three daughters Gussie, Nell, and Faye.
They owned and operated a cafe in Valley Mills. He was a member and Sunday school teacher at the Baptist church.
The story of his name came from his daughter Faye.
