Eliseo Jose Vigil, 84, Born June 18, 1922 in Colmor, NM, passed away at his home April 10, 2007 surrounded by his family. Mr. Vigil served in the United States Army Air Corps, during WWII. Eliseo received the American Service Medal, WWII Victory, Good Conduct Medal, he planned and placed Veterans Memorial in Raton, NM, doing all the research of names with the help of compadre Frank Mora; He was the family historian photo marker, memento keeper, perpetual visitor of family and friends, coin collector and practical joker. Eliseo's work was quick and he was a soft spoken man. Eliseo retired from the former CF&I Steel Mill 11 inch mill with over 37 years service. He is predeceased by; his parents, Florio and Elena Vigil; son Steve Vigil; brothers Florio, Bernave, Lewie and Gilbert Vigil; sisters, Martha Tarufelli, Margaret Gauna and Helen Shiner. Eliseo is survived by his beloved wife, Lucia M. Ortiz Vigil; children Lillian (Thomas) Lewis, Gerald E. and Michael R. Vigil; three sisters, Melior Vigil, Prudy Medina and Amy (Manuel) Lucero; daughter-in-law, Darlene Vigil; nine grandchildren, Jeremiah Lewis, Jessica Drake, Gabrielle Lucero, Erik Vigil, Skyler Vigil, Steven Given, Michael Given, Tanesha vigil, and Felicia Allen; four great-grandchildren, Kalube Hulett, Javen Given, Xyven Given and Styven Given; and many other relatives and friends. Eliseo will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
