This from Patty Bookout - Thomas was the son of William Murray (1690-1773) and Isabella Lindley (1660 - died before 1773) who immigrated to America in 1732 from Ireland along with their 2 eldest sons. Thomas was born on the family farm in Swatara, Lancaster (now Dauphin) County, Pennsylvania.
On 5 May 1767 in Paxtang Twp., now Dauphin, PA, he married Elinor Collier. They had 5 children that we know of: Mary (1770-1843) married Capt. John Gaston; Anna (1772-1821) married William Boyd; William died at age 29 (1773-1803); James (1776-1834) married Mary Mitchell; and Susannah "Susan" (1777-1850) who married Samuel Russell.
