Myrtle J. Winslow of Austin dies at 85

Myrtle J. Winslow, 85, 700 N.W. First Drive, Austin, died Monday morning at the Prairie Manor Nursing Home in Blooming Prairie.

Born July 12, 1905 near Oslo, Minn., she attended rural school, married Ralph Winslow June 19, 1925 at East St. Olaf Lutheran Church near Oslo, and made her home in the Austin area. She was a member of the St. Olaf Lutheran Church and the Sons of Norway.

Survivors include two daughters, Betty (Mrs. Eugene) Jorgenson of Austin, and Karen (Mrs. Jerry) Becker of Blooming Prairie; a son Marvin of Mankato; 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren; and one sister, Hilma (Mrs. Earl) Weiland of Austin. She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, an infant son, five sisters and four brothers.

Funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Clasen-Jordan Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. James I. Mikkelson officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery.

Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until the time of the service Wednesday at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary.
