Mrs Bennie Stevens, 46 years old, Dies

ROCK DELL-- Mrs. Bennie Stevens, longtime resident of Rock Dell died Saturday in Hayfield after an illness of four years. She was 46 years old.

The former Esther Mae Hyland was born Aug. 24, 1908 in North Dakota, and later came to Rock Dell with her parents. She was married to Mr. Stevens, Jan. 24, 1927 and lived here until the time of her death. Her husband died in 1947.

Survivors include two sons; LuVerne of Kasson, Merlin stationed at Fort Hood, Texas, a daughter, Mrs. Tommie Kyles of Yellville, Ark., seven grandchildren, four brothers, Alfred, Ernest, Walter and Kenneth Hyland, all of Austin and four sisters, Mrs. William Stelter, Mrs. Ralph Winslow and Mrs. Earl Weiland, all of Austin and Mrs. Aden Scharberg of Kasson. A daughter preceded her in death in 1952.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. at the LuVerne Stevens home and at 2 p.m. at the West St. Olaf Church in rural Hayfield. Rev. O. Stensland officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The Denton Funeral Home in Hayfield is in charge of arrangements.
