Paul Leon Peters entered into eternal rest on November 22, 2023 from his home in Whitesboro, Texas, at the age of 92 years.

He was born to Joel and Francis (Epps) Peters on Sunday, March 15, 1931 on a farm near Chelsea, Oklahoma. He graduated from Broken Arrow High School in 1949. He joined the United States Army, and proudly served our country from 1951 to 1953. He served during the Korean conflict in Occupied Germany and receive a Unit Citation of Good Conduct Ribbon and a National Defense Medal. He was honorably discharged as a Corporal on April 10, 1953. When he returned home he enlisted in the Oklahoma 45th National Guard, serving there from 1954 to 1957. He was humble about his service time but entertained us all with some of his KP stories.

He married the love of his life, Carol Crumb Peters, on May 25, 1956. Their love story was a sight to behold to their children and grandchildren. True admiration for each other and the need to make each other laugh was at the core of this love. They celebrated 67 years together this year.

Paul graduated from the University of Tulsa in 1957, obtaining an accounting degree. He was an accountant in the Oil and Gas Industry. He worked for Sinclair and Arco/BP. He retired in 1985 while in Farmers Branch. His getaway was a farm in Whitesboro and ultimately, he and Carol moved to "the farm" in 1996.

During his professional career, Paul was involved in the Oklahoma Jaycees and served as the Local State President. He was a staunch supporter of any activity his sons were involved in and then the grandchildren. This covered attending all events from wrestling competitions, to play productions, cheerleading events, and band competitions, and the list goes on.

Paul was a Lutheran of faith and a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Denison, Texas. He is survived by his spouse, Carol; his two sons, Kevin (Jeanna) Peters of Howe; Scott (Suzanne) Peters of Whitesboro; he also leaves behind six granddaughters, three grandsons, three great-granddaughters and various nieces and nephews. Paul is currently entertaining in Heaven his parents and siblings: Leslie, Ralph, Adolph, Lee, Ed, Lucille, Warren, Jonathan, Herman, Martin, Wayne, and Mary.

Paul had the best and biggest smile. He was known for his jokes, stories, and mere presence. He will be greatly missed for the love and laughter he brought to whomever was lucky enough to encounter him. "There is nothing in the world, so irresistibly contagious as laughter and good humor" – Charles Dickens.

In lieu of flowers donations to the Family Promise of Grayson County can be made in his honor to 901 E. Houst St Ste. 100 Sherman, Texas 75090

Funeral services honoring Paul will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, November 27, 2023 at Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro, officiated by Pastor David Edge. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro. There will be a time of visitation for family and friends held one hour prior to the service time at the funeral home.
