Funeral services for Edwin C Wilton were held Friday, Sept 18, 1942 at 3 o'clock at the Bostwick Methodist Church. Rev B H Hart of Superior officiated. The obituary:
Edwin Crans Wilton, son of Clarence and Addie Wilton, was born Jan 2, 1889 near Superior, Nebr. His entire life was spent near the Superior community. He passed away Sept 16, 1942 at the age of 53 years, 7 months and 14 days. He was married Aug 30, 1924 at Mankato, Kansas to Margaret Indorf.
He had not enjoyed good health for a long time, but endured his suffering and did not give up as long as he could possibly keep going. His passing was a shock to all.
Mr Wilton leaves to mourn his departure his wife and four children, Clarence, Irene, Melvin and Merle. One son, LeRoy Edwin preceded him in death Dec 18, 1926. His father, Clarence Wilton passed away in 1934 and one brother Charles in 1904. He also leaves his mother, Mrs Addie Wilton, six brothers and four sisters, Levi, Rex, James, Cyrus and Clarence living near here and Saul of Antioch, Ill., Gail Hunter of Guide Rock, Minnie Rohla of Oak, Margaret Wilton of Bostwick and Jennie Ruffing of Harrison, Nebr., as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
At an early age he was converted and joined the Evangelical church, later transferring his membership to the Bostwick Methodist Church
