Clarence Roscoe Wilton, 98, the son of Clarence and Addie (Hayes) Wilton, was born May 18, 1905, north of Bostwick. He died Saturday at Brodstone Memorial Hospital, Superior. He attended the Bostwick school. On March 14, 1931, he married Ila Belle Rogers. They made their home near Bostwick and raised four children. C. R. "Whitey" as he was known, farmed in the Bostwick area until 2001. He was a lifetime member of the Nebraska Farmer's Union. He enjoyed playing cards with friends and family. Preceding him in death were his parents, an infant daughter, Shirley Ann, seven brothers, Edwin, Levi, Rex, Charles, Saul, James B., and Cyrus; and four sisters, Gail, Minnie, Jennie and Margaret; and a grandchild. Survivors include his wife, Ila, Superior; four children, Harold, Superior, Gilbert, Denver, Mrs. Dewayne Barleen (Colleen), St. Paul; and Roger, Superior; 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Services were held Wednesday,, from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel in Superior, with Pastors Leslie Warner and David Watters officiating. Interment was in the Bostwick Cemetery.
