Claudia Braden, age 88 of York, NE, passed away Saturday, November 18, 2023, after a brave health battle. She was born on July 10, 1935 to Albert and Mable (Romer) Klemke in Hemingford, NE. She moved to York in 1968 and married Melvin (Mel) Braden in 1971.

She was a long-time member of the York Elks Club and of York Dove #7 of the BPO Does, where she served as both Dove president and secretary for five years each. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in York. In addition to many other local organizations and women's groups, she was known to those that knew her as having a zest for life, a love of travel, and a contagious spirit.

She is preceded in death by her husband Mel, son James and stepson Jerry. She is survived by her son; her 2 daughters; her step-daughter; 13 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren, who will all miss her greatly.

She would want us to thank all those who sent cards, thoughts, and prayers over these last months. They comforted and encouraged her.

Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 pm, Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at the First Presbyterian Church in York, with the Reverend Ron Wakeman officiating. Inurnment with be in York's Greenwood Cemetery. Cremation, no viewing, no visitation.
