Hazel K. Walkemeyer of Newberg, died on April 16, 1997. She was 87. She was born April 26, 1909 in Haddam, KS. She married Fred Walkemeyer on Feb 10, 1926. In 1938, the couple moved from Nebraska to Washington, then to Porland before retiring and moving to Newberg in 1968. She worked at Champoeg State Park and Friendsview Manor. Her husband preceded her in death in 1986. Survivors include: Sons, Darrell of Vancouver, WA and Duane of Portland; daughter
Yvonne MC GREW of Newberg ,sister Ramon LANDON of Vancouver, WA and brother Kenneth BENNETT of Newberg; 20 grandchildren,36 greatgrandchildren; seven gg grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 5 pm on Sunday at the Newberg Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.
