Ann E. (DeMartinis) Baldarelli of Hermitage, passed away peacefully while surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday evening, November 14, 2023. She was 100.

Ann was born September 5, 1923, at the family farm in West Middlesex, PA, the youngest of 10 children to Anthony and Erminia (Zappa) DeMartinis. For more than 40 years, she made her home in Farrell before moving to Hermitage. Ann enlisted in the Women's Army Corps (WAC) on March 15, 1945. Prior to enlisting, Ann met the love of her life, Levio J. Baldarelli, Sr., formerly of Fitchburg, Massachusetts, while he was awaiting transfer at Camp Reynolds. The two were married on November 30, 1946, and the Massachusetts boy and Pennsylvania girl were blessed to spend the next 72 years by each other's side.

For nearly 20 years, Ann was the receptionist at her daughter's hair salon, American Hair. She loved going to bingo with her 'Honey' at Fatima Hall and bowling with the Thursday Night Ladies League at Thornton Hall. Ann was also a member of the Sons of Italy Lodge 875 and American Legion Auxiliary Unit 432.

A lifelong member of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Ann had a special devotion to the Blessed Mother and prayed the rosary daily. She loved and cherished traditional family Christmas Eve gatherings, which took place at her home with all her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Ann lived each day for her faith and family. One of 20 children to both the Zappa and DeMartinis families, Ann was the sole surviving member.

Whether hosting family get-togethers or watching her children become parents themselves, Ann's greatest joy in life was her family. She took great pride in raising her children in the Roman Catholic faith and sharing her love of the Lord with all. Ann lived her life knowing that her eternal home would one day be in heaven. She did not fear the time or place when He would call her home.

In life, it's not about the possessions you leave behind but rather the memories you've woven into the lives of those you've impacted. Throughout her 100 years here on earth, Ann did just that. She will be tremendously missed by all who knew her.

Surviving are her three sons; Levio J. Baldarelli, Jr. (Joyce) of Hermitage, Alan Baldarelli, Sr. (Holly), of Conneaut Lake, PA, and Mark Baldarelli, Sr. (Paula), of Hermitage; three daughters; Virginia Adamo, Anna Marie Russo (Carmen), and Lynn McClafferty (Don), all of Hermitage.

Also surviving are her 18 grandchildren; Kara Perry (Brad), Marc-Anthony Adamo (Amy), Chérie Eulo (Jimmy), Rev. Alan Baldarelli, Jr., Jenna Peltz (Greg), Carmen Russo, III (Kelly), Levio Baldarelli, III (BreAnne), Mark Baldarelli, Jr., Giavanna Russo-Alvarez (José Manuel), Francesca Cook (David), Lauren Baldarelli (fiancé Brian Marsh), Matthew Baldarelli (Tabatha), Vincent Baldarelli, Elise Saluga (David), Christina Russo, Rita Hartenstein (Kevin), Victoria Russo (fiancé Joseph Falasca), Analia Boyd (Bryce); and 14 great-grandchildren; Contessa, Kailee, Ava, Roman, Sophia, Catalina, Landon, Pierce, Lucia, Nico, David Jr., Adaline, Levio IV, and Ruth.

In addition to her husband, Levio J. Baldarelli, Sr., Ann was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Ruth; five brothers; Frank, Angelo, Nick, Dan, and Ben DeMartinis; four sisters; Lucille Kauffman, Johanna Vernille, Eleanor Casciato, and Ida Currie; a son-in-law, Anthony Adamo; and a grandson-in-law, John Vournous.

The family would like to thank all the wonderful caregivers and the Veterans Administration for their many years of loving care and support of their mother.
