James J Bohannon died on April 17 about 8 p.m. He had been crippled for 18 years, though the direct cause of death was heart trouble. He was 73 years old and had been a member of the Methodist church. He was married to Elzada Robertson on March 9, 1882 and to this union were born 10 children, 5 girls and 5 boys; all survive. He is also survived by 1 brother, Lewis Bohannon, and 1 sister, Mrs Mary McCormick. The funeral was held at his home by the Rev Talmadge Reed of Monterey at 2 p.m. Wednesday, with burial in the new Bohannon cemetery, which will be the family burying place.
