B. B. Porter Colorado City Oil Foreman Dies
COLORADO CITY (SC)— Bryan B. Porter, 52 foreman at the Col-Tex refinery died unexpectedly at 6 p.m. Friday while he was at work.
Services are pending at Kiker and Son Funeral Home.
Mr. Porter was born May 3, 1906 in Texarkana Texas. His family moved to Colorado City that same year and he had made his home here ever since. Mr Porter was married to Miss. Lena Lipps July 4 1926 in Colorado City. He had been associated with Col-Tex since 1927 and was also the owner of the Porter Insurance Agency here. Mr Porter was a member of First Christian Church and a past master of the Masonic Lodge. He was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Royal Arch Masons the Sweetwater commandery the Dallas consistory and the Suez Shrine Temple in San Angelo.
Survivors include his wife one daughter Mrs. Eddie K Norris of Cape Charles, Virginia; six brothers, Worth W, Porter of Colorado City and Clifford Culp Porter, Maurice Mason Porter, Ernest Earl Porter, Regal Russell Porter and Armour Allen Porter all of Houston; two sisters Mrs. P. H. Dunham of Temple and Mrs. Hilton H. llenslee of Castle Air Force Base, California; and two grandsons.
