Mary Ellen Marley, 97, of Frankfort, IN, passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Wesley Manor. She was born on December 30, 1925 in Kokomo, IN to William Stanley and Opal (Carter) Kelsey. She married Claude Marley on November 12, 1964. He preceded her in death on December 10, 2020.

Mary was a 1943 graduate of Crawfordsville High School. She worked for Rost Jewelers, The Indianapolis Times, and IT&T Publishing prior to retiring in 1986. Mary attended Frankfort Bible Holiness Church. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and had a keen interest in traveling. Mary also enjoyed traveling to 49 states as well as to many other countries.

A resident of Lebanon for 25 years, Mary moved with her husband to Frankfort in September 2005 after having lived for 13 years in Daytona Beach, FL. In her years as a Floridian, Mary was a member of Daytona Beach Baptist Church, where she and her husband served as directors of the Senior Citizens Young at Heart Ministry and as hosts to numerous college students whom they entertained in their home.

Mary is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Wilfred Kelsey; sister, Anna Emmons; and niece, Linda Kelsey.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 from 12 PM until the time of the service at 1 PM at Day & Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort. Pastor Mark Mowery will officiate. Burial will follow at Lincoln Memorial Gardens in Whitestown, IN at 3 PM.
