Story published in serveral sources but summary of story on p 214 of Bk "History and Genealogies " by Miller says John Woods came to PA with parents a young boy and met the beautiful Susannah Anderson, dau of Rev James Anderson, who was but 12 yrs old, 4 yrs his junior, Upon removing to VA , he vowed to return for her and after a few years he retuned and they were married in 1742 Lancaster Co PA. Susannah was about 17.

From a mutilated leaf in the Rev. James Anderson's Bible, (Imprint "Edinburgh, A.D.1676,") on which was recorded the family registry, is copied the following imperfect list of births and deaths. In his will he names only James, Susannah and Thomas, but refers to all his children.

John lived on Mechum's River, not far above the Depot of that name. In 1745 he was sent as a Commissioner to prosecute before the Presbytery of Donegal in Pennsylvania, a call which the churches of Rockfish and Mountain Plains had given to Rev. John Hindman. He is the only one of the original family, the dates of whose life are certainly known.
He was born February 19th, 1712, and died October 14th,
1791. He married Susanna, daughter of Rev. James Anderson,
whom he knew as a child in Pennsylvania, and whom years
later he returned to woo as his wife. His children were
Michael, James, Susan, Mary, Suta and Ann.

Gravesite Details
Note: Much of this cemetery was virtually destroyed during the Civil War and it is my assumption that she is buried next to her husband in this known family cemetery.
