The 1880 census shows her family living in Raymond Township, Champaign County, Illinois. Her parents, and both brothers again appear. Charles P. is now 9 yrs old and Leslie is 7yrs old. Ruth does not appear although a daughter named Cora is listed as being 5 yrs of age, born in New York. Another sister, Chloe, aged 3 months (possibly 8 months), born Illinois, has joined the family.
On July 16,1882, an unnamed daughter is born in Raymond Township, Champaign County, Illinois, to Lafayette & Esther. Registration of Birth Entry 3151 (1882), Champaign County, Illinois. I've been unable to find any other information about this daughter.
In the 1900 federal census her mother Esther states she has borne eight children with six living at the time of the census. It is assumed that the daughter named Ruth in the 1875 census is the daughter referred to as Cora in the 1880 federal census. It's also assumed that the daughter born in 1882 in Champaign County is Ruth Elsie but I've been unable to find any information to substantiate this . It is known, based on lot owner information, and the headstone that Ruth is the sister of Charles P. which makes her the daughter of Lafayette & Esther but her actual legal name & date of birth remains in question.
