New Albany-Thomas Randy Cobb, 75, entered Heaven on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. Mr. Cobb was born in Pontotoc, but was a lifelong resident of Union County. He was preceded in death by his parents, Troy and Lorene Cobb, and a brother Herbert Cobb.
Randy was a 1965 graduate of Ingomar High School. He attended Northeast Mississippi Community College, then graduated from The University of Mississippi Law School. Randy's early work life began as a package boy at Big Star, followed by getting his broadcasting license in Nashville, then working as a DJ at WNAU radio and then WTVA television station. He practiced law in New Albany for a brief time. He worked in media at Northeast and taught a class in real estate and paralegal. Eventually, he became an insurance agent and worked for Farm Bureau for over 30 years serving neighbors in his community.
Randy loved the Lord, his family, his Orchard church home family and friends, great food, good music, and classic cars. He'd recall his seasons of life by what type of car he was driving at the time. He will be sweetly remembered by his most memorable smile that was both lovingly welcoming and often times mischievous yet always caring.
This kind, gentle man is survived by wife of 54 years, Donna Doom Cobb, son Dustin Cobb (Jim) of McKinney, TX, his daughter, Julie Brock (Chris) and grandchildren, Bella and Brody Brock all of New Albany. He is also survived by one brother, Rodger Cobb (Kay) of Fairhope, AL, and his sister Betty Brewer (Charlie) of Canton, MS.
Randy Cobb will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. A celebration of life service will be held at United Funeral Service on Saturday November 11, 2023 at 11:00am with Dr. Bryan Collier officiating. A visitation will be the same day from 9:00am until the start of the service.
In lieu of flowers, our family requests the support of our granddaughter, Bella Brock, in ongoing missionary work in Africa and stateside through AFM ministry that can be sent directly via the following web link https://www.africafreedommission.org/bella-brock OR Donations can made through Venmo @ebbrock as well as mailed to P.O.
