A patriot and veteran of the Revolutionary War, Liffe came to Bridgewater, CT with his father Nehemiah. He rose to the rank of Sergeant, and was present at the execution of the British spy, Major Andre. He returned to Bridgewater after his service and lived out his life as a farmer and respected resident.
