AGUA DULCE, Texas – Florentina O. Diaz, 75, passed away December 10, 2009 in the Alice hospital. She was born April 29, 1934 in Banquete, Texas, to Gregorio and Ventura Ortiz. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Frances Catholic Church in Agua Dulce.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Donaciano R. Diaz of Agua Dulce; two daughters, Hilda Diaz of Houston and Dora (Rick) Falcon of Odem; three sons, D. R. (Diana) Diaz Jr. of Corpus Christi, Jose M. Diaz of Alice and Rene (Eloisa) Diaz of Ben Bolt; 15 grandchildren, Michael K. (Annie) Diaz, Bradford W. (Prissy) Diaz, Stacy J. Bailey, Belinda (Emilio) Chapa, Maria G. Diaz, Javier M. Díaz, Frank A. (Ellena) Medrano, Amanda J. (Leroy) Zamora, William C. Medrano, Troy J. Hinojosa, Monica R. Hinojosa, Danielle M. Hinojosa, Ashley Falcon, Michael A. (Dedra) Diaz, Melissa N. Diaz and Courtney R. Diaz; one sister, Ofelia (Victoriano) Armadillo of Banquete; one brother, Palcido [sic] Ortiz of Aransas Pass; and 18 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Saturday, December 12, 2009 and from 1 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday December 13, 2009 with a Rosary recited at 7 p.m Sunday evening at Holmgreen Mortuary Chapel in Alice.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, December 14, 2009 at St. Frances Catholic Church in Agua Dulce. Burial will follow in New Collins Cemetery in Alice.
