GOuverneur, July 7 - LaFayette Swain, an aged resident of the town of Fowler, died at the home of his son-in-law, John Gains, in that town, Friday evening. He dropped dead while out walking and his death is believed to have been due to apoplexy. The funeral was attended from the late home Monday morning and was in charge of Rev. George Merritt, minister of the Hailesboro-Natural Dam charge of the Methodist Episcopal church. Interment was made in Riverside Cemetery.
