My great Uncle. Son of Levi Franklin Watt & Alice Amerilla Hawkins (1861-1925; mother immigrated from Canada in 1871, unknown burial place); grandson of Eli & Nancy E. (maiden name unknown) Watt and Unknown & Frances E. (Gryderman) Hawkins.

When Uncle Luther was 21 he married Maye Coefield (she was only 17). Within a short time they had a bouncing baby girl, Rose Marie.

By 1930 they were living in Austin, Garfield Co., CO and he was a Miner.

1940 San Miguel Co., CO census:
Luther W. (head) 41 b CO, Mine foreman
Maye (wife) 36 b CO
Rose Marie (dau) 18 b CO
William H. Coefield (brother-in-law) 66 b PA, Divorced. Note: I believe William is Maye's father, not brother.
