Olaf Halvorsen Lundtveit was born in Mo, Telemark, Norway. He married three times: (1) Kari Torbjørnsdatter on 20 Jan 1851 at Mo, Telemark, Norway. They had four children: Bjorguf (Burdick), Halvor, Anne & Aslaug. The family travelled to America in 1861, however Olaf's wife, Kari and their youngest daughter, Aslaug, perished on the voyage. Olaf and his three surviving children settled at Burke Township, Dane County, Wisconsin. It is likely here that he married (2) the widow, Mari Larsdatter Erickson (nee Mennes) on 6 May 1862. They moved to Blue Mounds Township in Western Dane County, Wisconsin by 1870. They had three children: Andrina (Carrie), Louis Edward and Ole. Mari died 8 Sep 1875 in Blue Mounds Township. Olaf married (3) Guro "Julia" Gjermundsdatter Tveiten on 5 Dec 1876 in Madison, Dane County, Wisconsin. They had six children before he died in 1886: Helene, Julia, Julius, Tilla, Gilmon & Galia. Olaf Halvorsen has no known marker in the cemetery.
