Mrs. Loughrey was born in Cumberland, Maryland, August 13, 1853. She move to Olin, Iowa, with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Brant at the age of six.
She was united in marriage to William Loughrey at Mockoety, Iowa in 1874. They moved to Omaha and lived there until they moved to Montana in 1903. They lived there for three years when they moved to Wyoming and settled on a mining claim on Copper Mountain north of Shoshone in 1906. They lived there until Mr. Loughrey's death 16 years ago, July 25, 1925. Then she moved to Shoshone where she lived until she came to Lander Dec. 12, 1939, and has made her home with Mrs. Frank Holt who cared for her through her illness.
She will be missed by her friends here in Lander and by her old friends at Shoshoni where she lived so long. She was kind and loving and was loved by all who knew her.
She united with the German Lutheran church when she was a girl and lived true to her faith until her death at 11:30 am March 30, 1941. She was laid at rest at the side of her husband at Shoshoni.
Funeral services were held at the Congregational church of Shoshoni Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, April 1, 1941.
Mrs. Loughrey is survived by three nieces and four nephews: Mrs. Hattie Knop of Ashland, Oregon; Mrs. Bertha Hood of Wayne, Nebr., Mrs. Alice Simonin of Lincoln, Nebr. Cash Wadsworth of Douglas; E.S. O'Connor of Casper, George O'Connor of Lusk. Cash Wadsworth of Douglas attended the funeral services.
The German-Lutheran minister of Riverton conducted the service and her favorite hymns, City of Four Squares and Rock of Ages were sung.
Casket bearers were F.A. Gabut, J Clinton Cox, William Garden, N.P. Nelson, R.C. Price and J.W. Stuchell.
