Elwood Soldier Dies Suddenly In West Indies
Pfc. William T. Hicks, died in the British West Indies on April 23 of a heart attack. His body is being returned to Elwood for burial. Upon arrival it will be taken to Clark's Chapel.
Born Feb. 26, 1927 in Elwood, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Reginald D. Hicks. He was married to Joyce Ward of England, May 22, 1952.
Survivors include the widow; a son, Stephen; his parents, a brother, Emery James Hicks of Dayton; five sisters, Mrs. Wilma Graves, Mrs. Betty Jane Harting, Mrs. Rosemary Jones and Mrs. Beatrice Beeman, all of Elwood, and Mrs. Sarah Ellen Hancock, Patrick Springs, Va.
Funeral arrangements are pending the arrival of the body.
