San Francisco Call, Volume 108, Number 159, November 6, 1910:

"FINAL TRIBUTE PAID DISTINGUISHED WOMAN. Mrs. Alice K. Cooley Is Laid at Rest. ALAMEDA, Nov. 5. — Many friends paid final tribute today to Mrs. Alice Kingsbury Cooley, the writer and former actress, her funeral being held from the home of her son, Earl K. Cooley, 1237 Broadway. After the service, presided over by Dr. Dudley Evans of Grace Episcopal church, San Francisco, interment was held in National cemetery, Presidio, San Francisco. Mrs. Cooley had expressed the wish that she be buried beside her husband, Colonel Frank M. Cooley, United States army, who passed away 20 years ago.

The pallbearers were Mrs. Cooley's four sons, Frank, Earl, Edmund and Verdenal Cooley, and her stepson and son in law, respectively, W.W. Cooley and James McKean.

A wealth of floral tributes, coming from every walk of life, covered the bier. The Pacific Coast women's press association and a theatrical association sent floral pieces."

ALAMBDA, Cal., Nov. 4.—Mrs. Alice Kingsbury Cooley, California poet, author and actress, died here yesterday after a long period of illness. Her death was due largely to a gradual breaking down. Mrs. Cooley was a native of Bristol, England, but came to America with her parents when a child, the family settling in Cincinnati. She was married in that city to Horace Kingsbury. She made her stage debut in the early 60's, winning considerable fame in San Francisco. She played throughout the country in various roles, winning distinction in Shakespeare's playa. Mrs. Cooley was also a well-known writer of prose and verse and had several volumes of her writings published. She was the mother of eight children and the stepmother of three others. Frank Cooley, the actor, Earl Cooley, president of the San Francisco Galvanizing works; V. V. Cooley of Yuba City; Edward Cooley of Los Angeles, and Mrs. Sallie McKean of Alameda are among the children.
Note regarding her name: Kingsbury was the surname of a different husband, Horace Kingsbury. She used this name in her acting career.
