Lauren J. Fisher, Sr., 93, of Wapello, passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at Trinity Hospital in Rock Island. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Muscatine. Graveside Services will be at 1:30 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery. A memorial has been established in Laruen's name. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com.

Lauren J. Fisher, Sr. was born on October 19, 1929 in Muscatine, Iowa, the son of William and Laura (James) Fisher. Lauren was a 1948 graduate of Muscatine High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Army serving from 1950 until 1953. On June 21, 1975, Lauren was united in marriage to Janet Hendershot in Fort Madison. Laruen worked for Muscatine Power and Water for over 35 years retiring in 1993. After retirement he began working for a security company with his son called Security World based out of the Quad Cities. He also alongside his wife, Jane operated the family owned motel in Wapello and bought and fixed many homes. There was no project too small for Lauren as he was the jack of all trades from construction to carpentry work, masonry work and even doing car mechanical work. In his spare time, he was an avid outdoorsman enjoying all types of hunting and some fishing.

Lauren will be deeply missed by his wife, Jane of Wapello; children, Laurie (Rory) Marshall of Wilton; Linda (John) Silva of Muscatine: Bruce Fisher of Muscatine and Lauren Fisher, Jr. of Muscatine; step-children, Susan (John) Van Pelt of Burlington and Patrick (Gladys) Murphy of Wapello; step-daughter-in-law, Debbie Murphy; nine grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; ten step-great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and three step great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandchild, Cochise Call; step-son, Michael Murphy; step-great-grandson, Jackson Gipe; sister, Marilyn Rost and brother, Lyndon Fisher.
