San Jose Evening News, May 13, 1912, p.4. "After an illness of many weeks, Starr Mansfield Bruce, widow of the late Gouvenor Morris Bruce, is dead at her residence, 55 Stockton avenue. She was 69 years of age. She was a native of New York, but had resided in San Jose, where she was well known and had many friends, for over 30 years. Her husband, who died several years ago, had also resided for many years in San Jose and was a well known capitalist. A son and daughter are left—Morris Bruce, an architect of San Francisco, with Albert Pissis, and Mrs. Bertha B. Pait, who had been residing with her mother at the family residence. The funeral will take place tomorrow ... The interment will be at Oak Hill."
