Trent was born December 22, 1964 in Liberal, Kansas to Willard Henry and Lilla Marie Carr. Trent graduated from Liberal High School in 1983. While in high school he was in the marching band and marched in the Rose Bowl Parade. Trent's childhood dream was to be a designer and ceramics artist. Trent attended Kansas State University, earning a Bachelor of Architecture degree in 1988. While in college he studied a semester in Denmark, sparking an interest in traveling.

He became an accomplished architect and builder, earning him a spot on the History Channel's Modern Marvels show and several professional awards. With an eye for detail, he also enjoyed interior design.

Trent was known for his love of California, spending time at the beach, walking in Balboa Park and taking in nature.

Survivors include his brothers Rodney, Dennis (Tammy) and Scott (Laurie) Carr all of Liberal, Kansas; sister Charlette Evans (Jeff) of Davenport, Iowa; several nieces and nephews, and his beloved pets; Thai, Siam and Ernie.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard Henry Carr and Lilla Marie (Morlan) Carr.
