Edith "Edie" A. Dudek, 72 of Waterford, passed away at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany on Thursday, August 4, 2022. She was born in Manhattan and was the daughter of the late Louise Cashdollar Weir. She graduated from Duanesburg High School and Mary McCullen School for Nursing, receiving her associate degree as an L.P.N. She worked at Leonard Hospital in Troy, then Highgate Nursing Home. She worked for the N.Y.S. Department of Health as a public health representative. She then helped her husband John at LaMarche's Variety in Cohoes before retiring from the N.Y.S. Department of Health after 20 years of service. Edie loved gardening; she did decorative painting, taught many of her skills in painting, and did many craft fairs. Edie is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years, John Dudek of Waterford. She was the sister of James (Anne) Weir of Cohoes, Thomas Cashdollar of Duanesburg and the late Carol Cashdollar and Kenneth Weir. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
