Sanford Theodore Arrington, 92, of Farnham, Virginia, formerly of Chesterfield, Virginia went to be with the Lord on September 29, 2023. He was born on April 19, 1931, in Charlotte, Virginia, to the late Charles Taft Raymond Arrington, and Euna Jane Clifton Arrington.
Sanford is survived by his devoted spouse of 62 years, Reba Raenell Ellinger Arrington, his daughter, Robin Arrington Barrack (Jackie) of Lancaster, Virginia and son Michael S. Arrington (Rosemary) of Chesterfield, Virginia; his grandsons, Christopher Barrack and Jonathan Barrack, and his granddaughters, Rebecca Arrington and Kathryn Arrington. Sanford is also survived by his sisters, Mae Brunson of Lynchburg, Virginia, Nell Scott (Willie) of Gladys, Virginia, June Wood of Lexington, South Carolina, Patsy Wingfield of Richmond, Virginia and Irene Bowman and Linda Moon (Danny), both of Concord, Virginia and two sisters-in-law, Clara Arrington and Donna Arrington Lively.
He was predeceased in death by his son, Lehman Randy Arrington, his brothers, Mac Arrington and J.C. Arrington; and a sister, Ann Arrington.
Proudly honoring his commitment to our country, Sanford served in the United States Army 82nd Airborne Division from 1951 to 1956. He was a devoted Christian who served his Lord as Sunday school teacher, Sunday school superintendent, and later as a deacon. He was also a devoted father who enjoyed sharing his love of motorcycles, airplanes and roller skating with his children.
In memory of Sanford Arrington, contributions can be made to Ascend Hospice, 10571 Telegraph Rd., Suite 203, Glen Allen, VA 23059. Their caring and compassionate nurses and other staff not only aided Sanford during his final days but also comforted and guided the family through this difficult time.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Currie Funeral Home in Kilmarnock, Virginia. Interment will be 1:00 p. m. Friday, October 6, 2023 at Dale Memorial Cemetery in Chester, Virginia.
