Marvin Lee Leatherman, age 90, of Cat Square Road in Lincolnton, passed away on Friday, September 29, 2023.

His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 2, 2023, at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Tommy Lineberger officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.

Mr. Leatherman was born May 7, 1933, to the late Austin and Georgia Heavner Leatherman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Carolyn Sain Leatherman; son, Joel Lee Leatherman; brothers, Floyd Leatherman and Junior Leatherman; and sisters, Lottie Johnson, Betty Dills, and Edith Sigmon. Marvin served in the United States Army then worked as an agricultural teacher.

He is survived by a son, John N. Leatherman (Carley) of Lincolnton; three grandchildren, Anna Collins (Dan) of Morganton, Elly Leatherman (fiancé Hayden Thomas) of Lincolnton, and Eli Leatherman of Lincolnton; and sister, Rachel Parlier of Maiden.
