Gloria Joan Dudley 71, of Stevenson Alabama gained her wings on September 23, 2023. She passed away at her residence with her best friend by her side. Joan was born on April 24, 1952 in Scottsboro Alabama to Fate and Hazel Dudley; she grew up in the Fackler community, and spent most of her adult life residing in Stevenson Alabama. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Joan worked at the Avondale (Shaw) plant for many years before her retirement. Joan was an ardent fan of Alabama and Auburn football and loved watching the Atlanta Braves Baseball, she was a collector of all sorts of memorabilia, and enjoyed a good conversation of the success of her favorite teams. But her MOST favorite activity was watching the grand's and great-grand's participate in their sport activities, She could always be found at their games or cheerleading activities, cheering them on, then possibly having lunch at 50 taters! Joan was always a big kid at heart and all the kids big and small in the family knew this and loved her so. Christmas was a fun activity for all and she was as excited as all the youngsters big and small to not only see everyone but catch up and get to see her many nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by all.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents, William Fate Dudley and Hazel Heffington Dudley, her brothers, William Dean Dudley, Joe Pat Dudley, and nephews Doug Beasley, and Keith Beasley, sisters in law, Kathryn Dudley and Shirley Wilbanks, and best Alabama buddy, Joe Pearson.

Left to treasure her memory are her family members, Francis Pearson, Larry (Freda) Dudley, Lois Dudley, Jeff (Scotty)(Annette) Dudley, Greg (Sandra) Pearson, Matt (Christy) Pearson, Keith (Nicole ) Pearson, Holly (Justin) Morgan, Andrea (Glenn) Disheroon, Ginger Dudley, Deana (Alan) Curtis, Patrick (Tonya) Knight, Donald (Tonya) Beasley, Melanie Carlton, Sonja Beasley, Chris (Tonya) Dudley, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great grandchildren.

The services for Joan will be held at Valley Funeral Home in Stevenson, Alabama. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4-8 and the funeral service will be 2 PM Wednesday September 27, 2023. Her final resting place will be in Pine Haven cemetery in Hollywood, next to her parents and her brother Joe. The entire family would like to extend Thanks to all who have expressed sympathy, offered prayers, shared a story of good times with Joan, or just sent your love.
