Jacob Weaver was born September 12, 1831 to John and Elizabeth (maiden name unknown) Weaver in Toby Township, Clarion County, Pennsylvania.
He married Eliza Jane Greenawalt, August 19, 1859, in Toby Township, Clarion County, Pennsylvania.
He had studied to be a Methodist minister. His enrollment card listed his occupation as stone mason.
He enrolled September 7, 1861 at Callensburg, PA where the family was living and was mustered in as Corporal at Camp Orr, PA.
His enrollment card described him as being 6'1" tall with blue eyes, fair complexion and light hair.
On May 31, 1862, during the Battle of Fair Oaks or Seven Pines, Virginia, he was wounded in the leg which was amputated at Hygeia Hospital. He was put aboard the steamboat, Robert Fulton, to go to a military hospital in New York. He died on the boat. He was 30 years old.
