Donald was a graduate of Pana High School and Indiana Institute of Technology. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 4 years in Texas, Missouri & Guam, Marianas Islands. Donald retired and had worked as an Engineer for the Illinois Capital Development Board for 34 years. He was a registered Engineer in Illinois, Georgia & Florida. He was a long-time member of the Illinois Society of Professional Engineers.
Donald is also survived by his children: Lisa (Richard) Lippert, Elon, NC and Valerie (Alec) Mathis, McDonough, GA and 4 grandchildren: Eric & Kaitlyn Lippert and Ansley & Kayla Mathis.
Funeral services for Donald will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023 in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Nathan Mathis officiating. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery, Pana with military rites by Pana Veterans Honor Guard.
Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until service time in the funeral home.
Memorials in Donald's memory may be made to the Pana Community Hospital Foundation, 101 E. Ninth St., Pana, IL 62557 and will be accepted by McCracken-Dean Funeral Home who is assisting the family.
