He was born in Greenwood, Doddridge Co, on February 7, 1939 to the late Okey Richards and Luella Norman. He had an interest for working on vehicles, weed eaters, lawn mowers and enjoyed mowing.
Surviving Russell is his children; Kimberly Ann Tibbs, Sarah Jean (Robert) Vance; Grandchildren, Stacy Clark, Russell Vance, Melissa Dornon, Robert Vance JR., Leigh Naylor, Billie Tibbs; 17 Great-Grandchildren, Makayla Parsons, Dalton Waggoner, Calista Clark, James Dornon, Jolina Waggoner, Katie Clark, Annie Naylor, Whitney Dornon, Jocelynn Naylor, Hailey Vance, Noah Naylor, Kylie Vance, Addison Brooks, Chevlynn Lancaster, William Naylor, Riverlynn Buskirk, Kimberlynn Buskirk.
