David "Archie" Earl Archibald age 84 of Bay Lake Township died on September 17, 2023 in the same home where he was born to Mina Doty and Earl Conzit Archibald on November 22, 1938. He passed away after a hard-fought, six-year battle with cancer.

Dave graduated from the Crosby-Ironton High School in 1956 and attended the Forestry College at the University of Minnesota. He then entered the United States Army and served overseas for two years. After his military service, he worked for the Forestry Department fighting fires out in the western states and locations closer to home. He followed this with getting into excavating and sewer work in the metro area and greater Minnesota until he brought that work home, having his own small business until he retired.

Dave will be remembered for being soft-spoken and kind. He was a true outdoorsman - the forest was his sanctuary. He would spend his days happily cutting wood and working on his machinery. He was not afraid of hard work!

Preceding Dave in death are his parents; his sisters, Maxine Larson, Mary Jane Diaz, and Ethel Archibald; and baby brother, Carlton Archibald.

Dave is survived by his wife of thirty years, Sandy; his sister, Karen (Bob) Kretlow; eight nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 22, 2023 at the Salem Lutheran Church in Deerwood. Full military honors will be presented by the Walter Scott Erickson American Legion Post #557, Deerwood. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Burial will be at the Bay Lake Township Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
