Vontella Brindley Law Clayson, 76, Payson, died Saturday, May 19, 1984, at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City cancer.
She was born Feb. 6, 1908, in Angle, Utah, to Howard Shut and Emily Lavada Cantrell Brindley. She married Joseph B. Law, Oct. 15, 1924, in the Salt Lake Temple The Church Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints. He died May 18, 1936. She married William Ostler Clayson, July 20, 1939, in Nephi, Utah. He died Jan. 9, 1970.
(S)He was educated in Angle and Antamony schools. She worked as a clerk in a dry goods store for a number years and also at Porter's Greenhouse in Payson for 15 years.
She was a member the Payson First LDS Ward and served in the Relief Society.
Survivors include one son and three daughters: Mrs. Max (Gwen) Mortensen and Mrs. David (LaFonda) Cook, both Payson; Mrs. Wayne (Corinne) Gabbitas, Orem; Newell Law Mapleton; 14 grand-children; 34 great-grandchildren; one step-son and one step-daughter; Mrs. Jay (Beth) Warner, Nephi; Hugh M. Clayson, Pocatello, Idaho; 12 step-grandchildren; 30 great-step-grandchildren; one great-great-step-grandchild; a brother and a sister; Mrs Vernon (Carma) Shaffer, Malad, Idaho; Sterling Devor Brindley, Kingston, Utah.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Payson First LDS Ward Church, 225 S.400 E., Payson, Utah. Friends may call at Walker Mortuary, 587 S. 100 W., Payson, Uthan, Tuesday, 7-9 p.m., or at the church Wednesday, one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Springville (UTAH) Evergreen Cemetery.
