Elena Hopkins passed away peacefully on Tuesday. She lived a full and loving life.
Elena was born in Oakland, CA and graduated from Oakland Technical High School. After graduation from Tech High, she attended Healds Business School. Elena worked for 9 years as a secretary for the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in San Francisco.
She enjoyed family, friends, music, baseball and dancing. She was a long time member of the I.C.F. and the women's Auxillary of the Ligure club.
Elena married her true love, James Hopkins in April 1947. They were married for 50 years before his death in 1997. She was preceded in death by her mother, Edith, father, Domenico and brother, Frank.
Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation on Sunday Jun. 24, 2012 from 3-8pm at Albert Brown Mortuary, 3476 Piedmont Avenue, Oakland with a rosary at 7pm. Funeral mass on Monday Jun. 25, 2012 10am at St. Theresa's Catholic Church, 30 Mandalay Road, Oakland. Follow by a burial at St. Joseph's Cemetery, San Pablo. Reception to follow at St. Theresa's Church.
