Jacob Blickenstaff was born in Frederick County, Maryland, September 2, 1775. He left Maryland while yet a young man and went to Fayette County, Pennsylvania, where he married, April 13, 1803, Mary Crull. About 1806 they removed to Miami County, Ohio, near Tippecanoe City, where he became the owner of a fine farm in the Miami valley, and where they resided for the remainder of their lives. Jacob and his wife were members of the German Baptist church. Jacob's marker was restored and reset in 2007 during the Blickenstaff Cemetery restoration project.
