Travis Benton Absher, age 83, of the Road Ridge section of Raven, Virginia, passed away Friday, September 15, 2023 at his home.

He was born in Raven, Virginia and was the son of the late James T. Absher and Carrie Green Absher.

He was a life long resident of the area and was retired from Mullins Ford, Prestige Ford, Keene Drilling, and Gasco. He was a Richlands High School graduate and he loved God, his family, and his cows.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Thurman David Absher.

Larry Absher and wife, Carol of Cedar Bluff, Virginia

Grandchildren: Kevin Sparks and wife, Violet; and Nathanial Smith and wife, Kim
Great Grandchildren: Bailey Sparks, Caleb Sparks, Willow Sparks, and Keaton Smith

The family would like to thank all the special caregivers and Legacy Hospice for their comfort and care throughout Travis's sickness.

Funeral services for Travis Absher will be conducted Monday, September 18, 2023 at 1pm at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Tim Lester and Rev. Eddie Hess officiating. Interment will follow at the Absher Family Cemetery on Road Ridge near Raven, Virginia. Pallbearers will be: Benny Sparks, Danny Smith, Kevin Sparks, Nat Smith, Keaton Smith, Caleb Sparks, and Tommy Osborne. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Brothers and Brothers in Law. Friends may visit from 6pm until 9pm on Sunday evening at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia.
