Gertrude was born Dec. 17, 1912, in Chatsworth, daughter of Charles and Susanne (Elbert) Dorsey. Gertrude married Harold G. Hoppler on June 16, 1930, in East Peoria. He died on June 29, 1960.
She is survived by two daughters, Leola (Robert) Westonand Ethelyeen (Fred) Holy; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Evelyn Hoppler, and two stepsons; William and Harwan Hoppler.
Her childhood was spent in Chatsworth. She graduated as the valedictorian of the Chatsworth High School in 1930.
Gertrude was a homemaker.
She attended the United Methodist Church, Piper City. Gertrude was a member of the Friendly Neighbor Club of Piper City and also a lifetime member of the Ford County Home Extension.
She enjoyed cooking, baking and spending time with family and friends.
