Dorothy Marie Toyne Root
Dorothy Marie Toyne Root, 77, Topeka, died Saturday, May 6, 1995, at her home.
She was born Feb. 10, 1918, in Linwood, the daughter of James Henry and Helena Louisa Luckan Toyne. She was graduated from Linwood High School.
She was married to Raymond R. Root on Sept. 2, 1951. He died Oct. 31, 1980.
Survivors include a son, Ron R. Root, Topeka; three sisters, Martha M. Faler, Lawrence, and Mary Ann DaPrato and Evelyn Graham, both of Topeka; a brother, Sidney Toyne, Topeka; a grandson; and six stepgrandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Newcomer-Diffenderfer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Topeka Cemetery. Mrs. Root will lie in state after 8 a.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1315 S.W. Arrowhead Road, Topeka, 66604.
