Patricia Kathleen Kemp (Doyle) passed away on September 11, 2023. She was born in Southaven, Michigan to Thomas Doyle and Mildred Fredericks on September 22, 1953. Patricia grew up on the family farm in Southaven and had stressful, but happy times with her siblings, she was the seventh of nine children. Yet she also cherished her many cousins and viewed them as her siblings. Patricia was very much a free spirit, always eager to slip out of her shoes and go where the wind flows. She often loved to tell childhood stories of adventures on the farm, climbing trees, helping with the garden, animals, and cooking.

After the family moved to Florida, she and her siblings attended Dixie Hollins High School in St. Petersburg. She later dropped out to work in fast food where she met her husband. She was an exceptionally skilled artist and in her younger years graduated with an associate fine arts degree from St. Petersburg Jr College. She turned down an acceptance to the Rhode Island School of Design in the 1970s to follow her dreams of a family. On May 5th, 1979, she married John Kemp in a private wedding at Seminole Park in St. Petersburg. Later the couple moved to Mesa, Arizona where after many years they struggled in the marriage and divorced but had two children: Jennifer and Katherine. Seeking new adventures Patricia moved with the children to the Midwest and finally settled in Spearfish, South Dakota in 1998 as a homemaker. She loved the hills, but always spoke of the day she might return to the beaches of Florida.

In her life, Patricia enjoyed drawing portraits and abstract art, doing puzzles, word searches, reading, crafts, and playing video games like Fallout or her favorite, the Tomb Raider series. Patricia liked fairies, magic and fantasy, historical period dramas, watching movies, and especially crocheting. Her greatest hobby was working on family ancestry online in which she contributed decades of work that will live beyond her and assist many people. Patricia was also proud of her children and watching the successes they achieved beyond her dreams. Living long enough to be at ease her girls had jobs, college degrees, children, and healthy lives.

She was preceded in death by her parents and older brother Thomas. Survivors include her children Jennifer (Jared) Peterson of Belle Fourche, and Katherine Kemp of Spearfish. Siblings Margaret (Donald) Teal of Brooksville, FL, Harley Doyle of O'Brien, FL, Richard (Ellen) Doyle of Innverness, FL, James (Deborah) Doyle of Riverview, FL, Peggy (George) Bennet of Florida, Faith (David) Martin of Cincinnati, OH, Deborah Doyle of Treasure Island, FL, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and three grandchildren-Emily, Ella, and Erik.

Her children chose cremation because of the cost, and funerary Mass was held at St Paul's Catholic Church of Belle Fourche Tuesday 26th of September at 12 noon. The ashes were then sent to her siblings in Florida with a future private ceremony to follow.
