Joanne, 90, is of Columbus, and formerly of Statesville, NC and Adrian, MI.

She was born to Henry and Mary (Roetgerman) Albers. She married James Andrew Peay, who preceded her in death.

Surviving are two sons, Steve, Shasta Lake, CA and Christopher, Warrensburg, MO; five daughters, Diana Francoeur, Carmel, IN, Carol Van Pelt, Geneva, IL, Susan Neagle, Westerville, Pamela Brown, Chillicothe, and Jennifer Rosseter, Mason, MI; eight grandchildren, Alan, Andrew and Stacy Van Pelt, Hunter Francoeur, James and Johanna Neagle, and Maggie and Dane Rosseter.

Deceased are four brothers, Alfred, Edward, John and Herbert; and three sisters, Ida Schaaf, Marcella Burris and Bertha Wright.

She served as a first lieutenant in the Army Nurse Corp for 54 months during WW II. Her international service included tours to Scotland and France. After her discharge form the army she employed her nursing abilities at Goodwill Industries and served as a volunteer for the Red Cross.

Although a memorial service was held for her in St. John, Maria Stein Ohio, I am told that Joanne is actually buried in Michigan somewhere.
