Joyce A. Byington, 84, of Syracuse, passed away Thursday, April 10, 2008 at Menorah Park Nursing Home, DeWitt, NY. Joyce received a BS in Rel. Arts & Ed. From Syracuse University in 1947 and an MS in the same field from the University of TN in 1949. She was a personnel and training director for the Shepard Co. in Providence, RI. She was founder and director of the Children's Corner Nursery School in North Syracuse from 1970 to 1984. She also taught art and elementary education in Syracuse area schools. Joyce is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, a daughter, five grandchildren, a sister-in-law, and several nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. Committal services will be held Saturday, April 12, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Verona Cemetery, Verona, NY. There are no calling hours.
