Nancy was born in North Carolina to Peter and ? (Hitt) Rector who were second generation descendants of German Immigrants. Her father served in the Revolutionary War. In 1793, she married Peter Little in North Carolina and they started what would become a large family together. Around 1812, they moved to Wayne County, Indiana. Wayne County, named for General Anthony Wayne, had just been formed in 1811. The first white settlers in this area were Quakers from North Carolina in 1806. Peter and Nancy followed this migration and would spend the rest of their lives in Indiana.

In addition to the children listed below, some sources suggest they had a daughter named Abby.

===== DNA Evidence =========

Nancy was one of my thirty-two 4th great grandmothers. I am descended from her through Mary Little. Using the ThruLines program on Ancestry.com I can provide evidence for six of the children of Nancy. That does not mean that the others are incorrect. They may not have had children or they may just not have any descendants alive today that have taken the Ancestry.com DNA test and provided sufficient family tree information to Ancestry for them to be matched to me. Here are my ThruLine results:
