Guy Pinkney Beane

Morganton, N.C. - Mr. Guy Pinkney Beane, 90, formerly of the Baton community, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 10, 2008, at Britthaven Nursing Home.

He was born May 5, 1917, in Caldwell County to the late Otis Pinkney Beane and Edna Cannon Beane.

Mr. Beane was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp. during World War II. He retired from Crestline and was a member of Mountain Grove Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Smith Beane; three sons, Robert Darrell Beane, Michael Ray Beane and Floyd Eugene Beane; two sisters; and two brothers.

He is survived by two sons, Guy Carroll Beane of Granite Falls and Randall Leroy Beane of Boone; his daughter, Linda Beane Church of Hudson; three brothers, Sturgis "Tick" Beane and Nathan Beane, both of Granite Falls, and C.W. Beane of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and his sister, Rachel Hepler of Albuquerque, N.M.

The funeral service for Mr. Beane will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2008, at Mountain Grove Baptist Church.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church, and at other times at the home of his daughter, Linda Church, 251 Legion Road, Hudson, N.C. 28638. Mackie-High Funeral Home is serving the Beane family.
