As a young girl she played on the girls high school basketball team, designed her own hats and clothing. When she was in her late 60's she learned to oil paint at the community college while Zeno was teaching welding. She painted enough pictures for each of her grandchildren to have one. They are beautiful treasures.
Verda died 1 Jun 1994, at the age of 94.
