Louis M. Bard, 87, of Bristol, husband of Nancy (Melinoskas) Bard, passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2023 at The Hospital of Central Connecticut- New Britain General Campus. Louis was born in Fort Kent, Maine on April 23, 1936 and was the youngest of 16 of the late Fred and Victoria (Soucy) Bard. He moved to Bristol in his late teens and later entered into the United States Army. During boot camp on a weekend pass, he married the love of his life, Nancy on June 27, 1959 and just recently celebrated 64 years of marriage. He retired from Custom Metal Crafters in Newington after 25 years of service. Louis aka Morris as the family called him loved having family gatherings. He was known for his Christmas Eve parties where family and friends would party to the early morning hours. In addition to his wife Nancy, Louis is survived by a son, Russell Bard of Bristol; grandson Jacob Bard of Manchester; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his 15 siblings.

A catholic service will be held in Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at 11 AM. Interment with his wife Nancy will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol.
