A graveside service for Philip Adams will be at noon Tuesday in Willamette National Cemetery.
Mr. Adams died of cancer Sunday in his Northeast Portland home. He was 69.
He was born April 18, 1922, in the borough of Manhattan in New York City. A World War II veteran of the the U.S. Marine Corps, Mr. Adams had lived in the Portland area for the past 45 years.
He had been an insurance salesman for New York Life and owned and operated several restaurants, including Jamaico's in the Gateway district and the Hamburger Train. Mr. Adams was a member of the Lifegate Baptist Church.
Survivors include his sons, Phil of Tacoma and Bob of Portland; daughters, Kelly Conklin of Des Moines, Iowa, and Cheryl of Portland; sister, Marion Tucker of Portland; and five grandchildren
